Name: Domaine Les Trois Pueches

The people: Father and son team, Jacques and Viviean Conderc

The Story:

This small family run domaine dates back to 1765, but Jacques has been there since 1984. As Fouzilhon is on the edge of the IGP, only a small part is IGP Côtes de Thongue and the rest is AOP Languedoc or AOP Pezenas.

Of the two purely Côtes de Thongue wines, look out in particular for the single varietal Viognier, (Price Band B) an excellent example of this grape. The Les Trois Puechs Rouge is fine too, a syrah Grenache blend, a simple pleasure, but no worse for that. (Price Band A).

Not technically a Côtes de Thongue, but I feel I ought to mention it, try out their gorgeous late vintage Muscat (Paradisiac). Reminiscent of a fine Pedro Ximenez sherry. (Price Band B)
